American’s 2nd Boeing 777-300ER, N718AN, seen at DFW Gate D-23, the day of departure flew the inaugural flight. Much more than just a new aircraft joining the fleet, It signifies the re-birth of an iconic airline.
The FAA has approved American Airlines pilots to use their iPads on all phases of the flight across their entire fleet, these include Boeing 777, 757, 767, 737 and the MD-80. The airline projects using iPads would save them 400,000 gallons of fuel every year http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/06/ipads-replace-all-8000-pilots-flight-bags-on-american-airlines/
